1.Keep Your Hands Clean

Make sure your hands and skin are dirt-free. Then remove all traces of your last colour with an acetone-free remover. It is recommended that you gently scrub your nails and skin. This will remove any dirt and exfoliate any dead skin without the need of harsh chemicals.2

2.Trim Nails regularly

Make sure you get a trim regularly, as they are just as important to trim, as it is important to trim your hair. Set aside time to clip them every two weeks, adjusting to more or less often once you see how your nails respond.

3.Keep a nail file in your bag.

Office Nails and Beauty Services

If you’re someone who works or has a regular gym routine, this may cause a lot of wear and tear to your nails. Keeping a nail file handy, will help you to smooth away any rough edges that happen on the spot. The best way to do so, is to work in one direction with the grain of your nail for a smoother finish.

4. Do not cut your cuticles.

The cuticle has an important purpose to serve. It seals the area at the base of the nail. So, when you cut or remove the cuticle, it breaks the seal of protection. This could lead to bacteria getting in and possibly a risk of infection. Therefore, the better you are at leaving your cuticles in a good condition, the healthier nails will be. Regularly massaging them with a cuticle cream or think lotion can help with this.
